20$ for mario

>>
>>2824940
>why are game gears going down in value

Because people don't want them. When something is just going to sit on a shelf forever it goes down in value

My retail place sells things at pretty fair prices because they're constantly rotating stock. The only things that really sit on the shelf are the higher ticket items like rarer Saturn games and such.

Dude Gamedeals is so fucking shit of a store I can't even.

I went there with my brother to see if we could find anything decent.

Everything good is behind the glass. At eBay prices. I was going to buy Rule of Rose for 110 a year or so ago, but I picked one up online for 85 that week.

Every single N64 game in the bins was fucking Madden.

Some stuff was OK prices, but the selection is garbage, and its so fucking disorganized.

I don't see why they'd charge you 80 for an OG Xbox when last time I went there was like fucking 20 of them behind the counter.

Trash store. Its a shame its the only real one even remotely closeby.

the sega stuff is okay priced, but the selection is bad. At one point they were charging 90 bucks for super yellowed SNES', and in general the Nintendo tax is fucking high on everything from NES to N64 (gamecube is okay priced for some reason).
also they sell retron 5's, which is just icing on the fucking cake.

Pioneer Laserdisc player that has Sega Genesis + CD and TurboGrafx expansions.

Can play special Genesis Laserdisk games called Mega LD.

A very interesting combo of obsolete hardware
>>
>>2825563
Gamegear will always be niche as fuck and I think people are starting to realize that its honestly really fucking hard to play a gamegear.

>basically gotta be plugged in at all times
>Screen is full colour, but it was really early LCD so its full of fucking ghosting
>the thing is a fucking brick and weighs a ton

If there was like, a gamegear version of the super gameboy or gameboy player it would probably be more successful, but I honestly don't see people going out of their way to play gamegear.

Gameboy was also just straight up more popular.
>>
>>2825605
>basically gotta be plugged in at all times

Actually with modern batteries they last a little longer than some newer handhelds like the 3DS. Amazing it took only 20 years for the Game Gear to actually have a somewhat viable life for portable gaming.

This was from ebay just 5 years ago. Things went to shit fast.
>>
>>2825605
I remember playing a friend's Gamegear in elementary school when it first came out. My first impression back then was that games all felt slow and clunky and the screen was too small. And that was before I was jaded.

It's their size and weight that makes them not worth very much. Pleb casuals can drop a couple hundred on a whim and pick up a Saturn game that looks nice on da shelf but as we both know, to own cabs is a commitment.

Seriously though this is a typical Craigslist post for arcade stuff in central Ohio now thanks to that guy. This may not even be the same guy because this cab is cringeworthy. The ass guy's shit is just in various levels of completeness not... this.
>>
>>2826561
I guess theres a company around here (Vancouver) that builds multi-cades so whenever I search "arcade" on CL I always see that shit.

I also see a lot of guys selling various mame setups (no doubt because yeah, its a really large space commitment, and generally they require a bit of work themselves) or weird multi-cade converisons of actual cabs.

Although just checking someone's actually selling 2 vectrex' listed at 150... Man whats with all the cool shit getting posted lately, its usually garbage.

That can I posted is a conversation of a Phoenix Cocktail which MIGHT have been MAYBE worth $700 to a collector complete. I'm not even hating on the little multicade board that's been put in it since it has Phoenix on it but it has an LCD monitor in it and the glass has been replaced with a plexi sheet that isn't even the right size and has then been bolted right down into the cabinet top. Plus that Pixels movie sticker makes me want to punch a baby.

Two Vectrexes for $150 for BOTH? Do they both work? You could sell one for enough to pay for both and maybe buy a multicart on top.

Shopped around Vancouver, absolutely agree about GameDeals.

I got yelled at for trying to get a better look at one of the consoles behind the counter, when it really looked like it was set up to let people do that.

Not that I was going to pay $120 for just the console or whatever the fuck they wanted for it.

Any anon around Vancouver should check out Press Start if they haven't already. It's kind of messy and disorganized, but there's plenty of great stuff in there and the owner is a bro. It's fairly close to GameDeals actually, not hard to get to even by transit.

I would worry about posting the name of the place here, but I'm pretty sure they're used to handling worse people than anything /vr/ can throw at them.

People who try to make bank on Atari games are funny. I've seen a number of people who post a listing for 5-10 Atari games and want basically 10-20 bucks per cart purely because they're "vintage". They almost always consist of the same thing

>>
>>2832790
The average 2600 game is worth maybe 5 bucks at most, typically 2 or 3 dollars is a more realistic price. There are a few worth money, but for standard releases 30-40 bucks is about as expensive as Atari games get. You only get into the hundreds and thousands territory when talking about actually rare stuff like the xante carts or air raid. It's not crazy artificial rarity due to demand like with NES and SNES. Honestly that's what makes Atari such a joy to collect for, you can drop 30 bucks and walk away with 10 or 15 games that are all enjoyable.

These used to be $5 at Gamestop

Same way a local game shop once had a bin full of SNES Super Scope 6 and Madden cartridges. Nobody bought them so they just accumulated.

Guy came along, found all those Combats, perhaps for cheap, decided to buy them all for fun and rolled from there. Or maybe bought them with plans to gut them for home brew carts.

I found a PS2 at Goodwill last week for $30. Yay or nay, guys?

I didn't take any pics, but it was nasty as fuck. Coated in that dusty sticky shit. Melted plastic on one of the the AV cable plugs. I dunno, I guess I can clean it up, though...
>>
>>2835796
I paid like 40 bucks for a slim silver PS2 with 2 controllers, 2 memory cards, all the hookups and some random games on eBay like 3 months ago.

So no. Don't buy a shitty gross PS2 for 30 dollars.

You should be able to get a better deal than that. PS2s and PS2 games are really cheap and easy to find right now.

"Combat probably"? What the hell does that mean? Why can't people speak English on craigsshit?
>>
>>2835869
It means that it is probably combat, do you even speak English natively?

Oh ok, I just saw the earlier post. It didn't make sense without context.

Although...

That's good to hear, thanks. I was really fighting the urge to buy it, and I was doing that thing where you go around looking for people that side with you just so you feel validated in making the more enticing decision. I really shouldn't be spending frivolously right now, anyway...

fucking Massholes, man.
I am selling this treasure trove for only $450

Shit. I think I saw that cart in a pile of five dollar genesis carts at a hipster 'vintage market' I went to today.
>>
Went to a local thrift store the other day. They had Sonic 1, Bubsy and McDonalds Global Gladiators for Mega Drive. Boxed, no manuals. When I asked them the price they said 35 euros... per game.

I might understand a NES banjo, since banjo is a ridiculous instrument to begin with ... but a fucking guitar?

The man responsible should be boiled alive.

I'd rather have this.

whenever I see someone jam a 60-in-1 board in a decent cab it triggers me to no end

Just find a cheap cab prewired for JAMMA and throw MAME in it, easy multigame and depending on the monitor you wont have to do shit

>mfw I had to choose between a SI or an SI Deluxe cab and went with the original
>go back a few days later and the SI Deluxe is decked out with a brand spanking new 60-in-1 board

I know I shouldn't get mad for a dude doing whatever to his own shit but still, it continues to sit in his garage, waiting for someone to buy it at it's stupidly overpriced rate
>>
I'm texting a guy about coming to get his Saturn with two controllers and a sports game for 40 dollars later... Wish me luck.
