We'll live, there've been slow times before. But on this note, we need to do something about these lazy ass OPs. Just hiding away everything in a pastebin, including the collab documents and other stuff that keep the thread going, is literally killing activity.

>>
>>2820868
Don't build it higher than you need to. A common newbie mistake (way more common than LOL BANK YOUR TURNS) is building a super high and short coaster. Also, remember to bank your turns.

And post some images of what you've built and we'll look at it.

>>2820868
Scenery is important. It can make a shit looking coaster far better. Realism elements like fencing can help, too.

Not bad. You should have enough momentum for something more than just one turnaround at the end and I don't think you need that long break runs but it's mostly personal preference.

You seem to be good enough at designing coasters. Inspired by your coaster, this is how I built it. Then there's scenery which is always important if you want to build a really good coaster.

>>
>>2821080
By other posters on /vr/? I feel like that could be solved. Either by having 3 posts or by dividing stuff among pastebins to reduce size, like having one exclusively for downloads for example. And keeping the most important links, collab document, OpenRCT, the Wiki for example, in the post itself.
>>

Anon who compiled the original pastebin here: I did that because when I attempted to start a thread one time, it came up with a spam warning. I wasn't sure which part of the post tripped it, so I stuffed all in that pastebin.

In hindsight, that probably wasn't a good idea.

I think I went a bit overboard on my contest entry. It's become something like christmas bobsleigh spaghetti. It's also technically two coasters, but it used to be a single entity, though it turned out to be so bloody long, it couldn't get a good rating anymore.

Probably not that bad for a first time entry, anyway.

It's loads of fun. Alpine coasters, especially the ones that don't limit speed, are a real thrill. In a regular coaster everything is safe. But if you fuck around on one of these alpine coasters/slides you jut wipe out and get rekt. I was on one that had a plastic track, and it started raining a little. Jetline is awesome. Sweden really do have some amazing Schwarzkopfs.

Vekoma is a former company who built coasters. The quite famous corkscrew model was built by the two companies Arrow and Vekoma.

A B&M would typically be a big coaster from the Twister family, a Flying Coaster, Dive Coaster and probably a couple of others. If you want to build them realistic, watch a couple of POVs on Youtube and try to build something similar, you can always post them here in /vr/ct and ask for critique.

God how do I love those two. (even tho it may be just because that's the only serious park I've ever been to)

I've read the wikipedia page on "Roller coaster elements" and tried my luck at some of the things there mentioned. Pic related is the result of it. The "Norwegian loop" is ugly as shit, but functional. Also, I don't get the difference between "Batwing" and "Cobra roll".
>>
>>2832536
In RCT terms, a cobra roll is half loop> half corkscrew> half corkscrew> half loop. A batwing is half corkscrew> half loop> half loop> half corkscrow.

Booster hills are quite rare but they do exist. I usually spread out the boosters over the whole hill to make it look more even. Your coaster looks good, you could probably have use longer break runs to make the slowdown more gentle. Also, always post stats :)
>>
>>2832546
Will try that tomorrow.
Didn't post stats cause they where nothing out of this world. E:7 with the normal Twister trains. 7.5 with the floor-less ones. Intensity was over 8.

And I know Booster hills are not common, but wanted to try one.

How do I get people to keep going on my rides? They stay really busy at first but after a few minutes people stop coming to them. They just all stay on the paths and complain about how its too crowded.
>>
>>2836185
Peeps do lose interest over time. A new and flashy ride will draw more people and they will pay more.

>>2836194
Yeah, but in some scenarios, the speed at which guest loose interest is just insane.

I think this has been mentioned here before, but I just came back from watching The Thing again and its a great concept. How to communicate it in RCT is another matter, and I don't have the energy to mess around with prototyping scenery at the moment.

Maybe a burning ruined facility with a chaotic coaster snaking through at high speed.
>>
>>2836648
What about several different coasters running through the same facility to mimic the Thing's ability to transform?
>>
>>2836702
What about a bunch of different types of coasters that all use the same track, so its hard to differentiate between the different coasters with the exception of the trains

Just played a few hours of OpenRCT2's multiplayer with a friend today. With some kind of autosave-and-reload function it'd be very playable. We found just manually saving and reloading every 5 minutes on the host was quick enough to keep the game in sync long enough to make significant progress.

Going by the lateral G's it's a turn somewhere. You look like you know to bank your turns so I'd guess it's a small sloped curve at like 60-70km/h since you can't bank them on Mine Coasters.

I haven't played RCT in a while and I forget, what prices should you set for gentle/thrill rides and rollcoasters again? I used to have a system for it but I've forgotten.
>>
>>2840936
For every single ride in the game guests will pay up to the excitement rating of the ride. For example, a 2.3 excitement gentle ride will go for a max of $2.30 a ticket, though it is usually best to make the price 10c less than the excitement rating, as sometimes guests will complain.

Launched freefalls scale the maximum ride price to their intensity. Popular thrill rides such as go karts and motion sims can be jewed for almost double their excitement (to a certain limit) until their popularity fades
>>
>>2840954
