This is a thread for collectors. What are some nonsensical things you have bought to fuel your obsessions? I collect Space Channel 5 stuff and I bought a sealed case of 12 copies of Space Channel 5. At this point, I fear that I have more money than I have sense.
pretty sure you've got everyone beat there bud

That is what I figured.

HA! That's fantastic. whats the love interest in this game?
my worst buy is prolly mortal combat 3 for genesis for 5$. worst port ever
I've been buying obscure Japanese shit, especially things I think won't be as good emulated. I bought this for $6 and the boy is like annoyingly large. It just sits there mocking me.
The life of a hardware collector is much more difficult to display... and dust.
i paid 130 dollars for bad fur day loose

Post pics of you hot gluing those figures together.

Throw a Deee-lite album on that shelf.

Hi-Leg Fantasy in this picture. It's pretty expensive, yet I have no PCE Duo or PCE + Super CD-Rom^2 so I can't play it (I only have the briefcase setup with which it is incompatible)
Also: Tetris for Virtual Boy despite not owning a Virtual Boy.

Your Ulala fetish is, well, whatever, but there's nothing wrong with buying sealed copies in bulk if it means you get a good deal. I did the exact same thing with Chu Chu Rocket and I'm not even into space mice. It was just a chance to get a stack of an iconic DC game for less than a buck each.
I could have put the shit up on ebay and easily parlayed my $8 investment into enough for a sumptuous dinner for two at Red Lobster. Instead I decided to give them to kids who are just getting into retro collecting. There are six kids out there who will always remember that the first factory sealed game they ever owned is that copy of Chu Chu Rocket given to them by that cool uncle who had all that old vidya.
A Vib-Ribbon badge for £2 on eBay
Bought a Dreamcast karaoke unit (CiB) for less than 40€. Completely useless piece of hardware, but, eh.

how is starfox 2

Pretty good, it might be my favourite Star Fox actually. Worth getting a repro for/building your own repro of. At least until SD2SNES gets their game together and finally manage to add SuperFX support.

Seconding this.
I've seen some of your pictures before (I'm assuming there's only one Space Channel 5 aficionado here) and I'm also curious.
This.
Not that I regret it, but I thought it was rarer than it actually was so I ended up paying more than I should have.
A broken laseractive I got a few years back. I always wanted onebecause I love genesis hardware, but unfortunately, it's broken in about every conceivable way (Cracked case, missing remote, caps blown in the Sega pac, disc tray mechanism's shot) and I'm not sure if I'll ever find the time to tackle such a daunting repair project.
a super famicom when i already have a softmodded wii
