Do you like playing pong?

Nicely done.
I made a pong game in C++ once.
This seems like it was probably infinitely harder.

What's in the box? Looks cool!
>>
>>2813956
I'm getting the feeling you pulled an achmed clockmaker here
>>
Looks good. Maybe just sand the controllers some to make them a bit more uniform
>>
>>2813958
There's a AY-3-8500 Chip inside.
>>
My kids killed one of the the wooden controllers yesterday. the next version will be made of 5mm steel. :o)
>>

Is there another game available than Pong?
>>
pretty cool OP. I like.
>>
>>2813974
No, just pong as single player or multi player - and different levels (ball speed).
>>
>>2813967
Cool! Did you program it, or solder anything up?

My only recommendation is to refine the wholes on the box and shape of the controllers, but that's just because I'm a lunatic that likes clean cuts on my wood projects.

I was expecting the pong game to be in "squigglevision" with how the controllers look
>>
>>2813982
Agreed. The controllers were hard to build with my dremel. The wholes on the box were perfect, before I hade to break it. My kids had killed one of the jacks. Nothing was built for the eternity, right?
>>
>>2813982
Using a nice cut of wood like cherry or a good pine board instead of 5/8" plywood and maybe some stain would make it look legit and give it that "retro" look
>>
>>2813982
>Cool! Did you program it, or solder anything up?
The programs are hard-wired in the chip. I had nothing to code in that "project".

"handmade"

It really looks like a kid made this.

The controllers look like garbage.
No finishing techniques
Using shitty leftover materials

3/10. See me after class.
>>
>>2814308
so by that logic, every single system made after the Magnavox Odyssey isn't retro?
Get fucking real
>>
>>2814529
He's obviously referring to the first tennis games being made entirely with analog electronics. Or at least without any microprocessor.

But tennis for two != pong btw.
>>
Sand it down, make all the awkward edges flush, round the controllers out a bit, make the hole for A/V two separate holes, paint or varnish it and it'll look really nice. Otherwise, awesome!

If you made it recently that means it's not retro
>>
>>2815276
the chip he's using was made in like 1975, so it's pretty damn retro

A classic game from Se7enty-two.
>>
>>2815276
actually it's more "retro" than anything else that's usually on this board

the definition of retro*

No. It's some premade shit inside a very poorly made casing. It doesn't even look like it could blow up if you wanted it to.

It's a box and it has the two paddle shaped wood pieces that plays pong of all things. If I made something like this, I wouldn't even be able to find pride in it.
>>
>>2819409
I bet you take pride in trying to hurt some kids feelings though
