Whenever I played this game and made it to the final boss, I had to start therapy so that I could avoid night terrors. It's even worse than the Majora's Mask moon.
I guess the flying xenomorph and the giant heart was creepy too.

He was creepier in Super Contra. He had a fucking fetus on his forehead that would fly away after you kill it. I'm guessing he grew up to be the final boss from Contra III.

Geez, once I realized there was a time limit it always made this fight way too intense as a kid
this was pretty gory for a kiddie game like this
the fact that you have to kill him or slowly be pushed off a cliff makes it all the more nerve wracking

What are you talking about, you unlock that extra level and mini-game when you 100% each world. That is your reward, you're not gonna get another reward by 100%ing your reward.

Extra levels? who cares! they're even harder than normal levels, I want something that recognizes my effort, not a punishment.

How was it gory? Look how cute that heart is. It's got little fuzzes on it.
Also YI had such creative bosses. This guy, Raphael, Prince Froggy, super Bowser. 10/10 bosses.
