Share music from C64 games. I'll start with M.U.L.E.'s title music.

C64 had an amazing sound chip for 1982. Sounds almost as good as a SNES or Genesis.

Is that the original track?
There's so much going on there some after effects must have been added.
It's way too awesome. Dat solo in the last 30 seconds.
>>
>>2782307

Not sure, still sounds great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbQoQFLM_1s

I think this is the original

>There's so much going on there some after effects must have been added.

You should check out Edge of Disgrace then.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEZGt7aaIG4

Around the 5 minute mark it goes absolutely insane with the drums + bass, it is pretty difficult to tell what kind of polyphony it has.

Welcome to C64's SID.

That's impressive.

SID is amazing.

This one is fucking great

I always loved this and post it in every vr music thread, possibly the longest OG c64 tune

Why wasn't the High Voltage SID Collection posted in the OP?

http://www.hvsc.c64.org/#

This file contains pretty much every SID tune ever.
I've been hitting the random button for nearly a month now and still haven't even heard a song form the same artist twice.
Hell, sometimes I just search up random songs, and they're usually there.

Maybe more commercial stuff and scene stuff but a lot of hobbyists weren't really integrated into the scene and a lot of SID music wouldn't have made it in.

It contains shit tons of hobbyist tunes!
It even has SID files dated as recently as 2015.
>>
Why are almost all great SID tunes of European origin? Burgers just could not into music composition.
>>
>>2784446
I've been listening to a lot of GB and SNES music lately and I didn't find a single outstanding tune by an American composer. Probably no good chiptune composer around back then. Maybe the home computer scene has something to do with it? I don't know.
>>
>>2784512
well, tallarico is 'murkan
>>
>>2784446
Aside from LucasArts, the majority of NTSC Commodore 64 devs were pretty eh. Like they never figured out how to do anything with the SID outside of the default envelopes.

How does one make such a "oscilloscope view" type video? Please tell me it's a simple visualiser program.

Nice SIDs here. Just wanting to give some more credit to David Whittaker, who shouldn't be forgotten.

Sometimes it looks like the music was designed for the visulisation. It looks to symmetrical and planed.
I found some NES visualizations while looking for more C64 stuff.

One of my absolute favorite things about this track is that Sunsoft sampled their triangle toms and played them along with the bass while the triangle was playing a melody, so that they wouldn't interrupt the noise+tri percussion.

sunsoft were the masters of nes sound

In fairness a lot of Euro stuff on the GB was written on other hardware like a Spectrum or Atari ST, the most obvious example would be Alberto G., who composed all of his GBC music on a Spectrum until about 2000.
