I say its the best one because it got the best overworld, it was amazing on the exploration aspect, and argueably the best music of the series. Its only problem was the dungeon aesthetics, which was bricks, caves, bricks & caves.

I remember how big of an accomplishment it was to defeat the Johto league gyms and finally find myself on the way to the Elite Four. When I arrived and that man told me I took my first steps into Kanto, the region I had conquered about a year prior, I felt like my hard work had actually meant something.

God this just takes me back. It's the perfect theme that celebrates being a child and sitting at the N64 for hours with friends and siblings playing yelling and having a grand time. It celebrates a childlike innocence and fun that gaming had for me, the best memories I really have of being a kid involve nostalgia and videogames.
Growing up sucks, losing innocence sucks. I want to go back. It's so comfy in my nostalgia. I miss those cold winter nights in pajamas playing Mario Party with my brothers, trying not to make too much noise so we don't wake mom and dad because we had school the next day.
