Are there any usb N64 style controllers that aren't complete wank? I've had two cheapy ones off of eBay (~£8 each) and the analogue sticks always seem to be mapped as the D pad so pretty useless.

Any decent ones out there?

Thanks anon, didn't think they'd be so cheap. Should have some controllers in storage with my N64.

Op here, that's what I'm going to do

Seconding this, I got one for a couple bucks and am glad I own it, the new controllers are just too shit to use and being able to hook old ones up is really nice.

>that aren't complete wank
I mean you can't shine shit bruh, no matter how high quality it's still an N64 controller

Here's your reply.

The retrolink ones are ok.

The one I got is good, but some have joystick problems.

I actually enjoyed the n64 controller. A lot of people pull the "hurr durr you need 3 hands" shit, but games only used either the joystick or d pad, and I feel either are comfortable. Obviously it's not perfect, but in my opinion, for such a pioneering controller it worked pretty damn well

Nah. I feel Sony got it infinitely more correct. I say this as someone who still has very fond memories toward my N64.

Ironic, considering what Sony based theirs on.

Op here, I can't get comfy with PlayStation controllers, they are a little too small got my hands and get cramp after about an hour. N64, X360 and Saturn controllers are the only ones I really like.
>>

That means you have largish hands. It's only natural, then.

>Nah. I feel Sony got it infinitely more correct.
You have to remember it took Sony three tries literally.
>>
>>2783613

No, more like two; simply adding a rumble feature to your controller shouldn't really count as a failed design, in my opinion.
>>
>>2783627
All three have fairly substantial adjustments here and there, like grip length, button size, etc.
>>
>>2783636

I just looked up a comparison of all three (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PS1ControllerProgression.jpg). You're right.

Then again, I was a Nintendo64 guy at that time.

I bought it and the D-pad and shoulder buttons feel bad. You'd probably be way better off with the adapter above.
