What's up /vp/. This is the artist from the drawthread last night and I have a new challenge/game of sorts.
Feel free to reply to this thread with suggestions on Sun/Moon hopefuls and I will attempt to draw almost all suggestions and post in ANOTHER thread as long as they fall in line with these rules:
1. must reply with a name (not anon) so I can refer to you in another thread, a pic related and a description.
2. no trolling (i'll be watching you fucking assholes)
3. no owl and friends
4. no smut

Here is a re-draw of last nights water starter.
-Crubble: (water) "the bubble crab pokemon"
-Crabol: (water) "the containment pokemon".
-Tanklaw: (water/steel) "the launcher pokemon"

Two species of pokemon based on the story of the frog prince and sleeping beauty. One species is all male, one all female. They are the kissing pokemon.
Frog prince:
The pre-evolution (Croakling) is a poison type frog. When hit by draining kiss, lovely kiss, or sweet kiss in battle it evolves into a fairy/poison frog king (Croakking).
Sleeping beauty:
The pre-evolution (needs a name) is a poison type frog that is sleeping. When hit by draining kiss, lovely kiss, or sweet kiss in battle it evolves in a fairy/poison frog queen (croakqueen)
Basically they start as poison dart frogs with crowns (girl is sleeping) then evolve into more human like frogs with more king/queenly looks. They need good lips as they are kissing pokemon.
Draw an evil goblin Pokemon. Weird that one doesn't exist.

Only thing left that comes to mind is light pollution. So perhaps OP could try something like that?

Farfetch'd evolution that looks like a samurai.
Feet webbing and toes look like those Jap sandals, wings get a set of long, interconnected feathers coming from the top and draping underneath, looks like a kimono with the real wings being sleeves, gets about 3 feet tall and skinny, tough black feathers poke from the hips on both sides, purpose is to be holders for its weapon, head feathers and eyebrow feathers get long enough to be tied in a topknot, legs and neck are long, looks like a crane, leek is hollowed out to be a sheath, while other plant, of a different color, gets turned into a katana, and just generally looks like Farfetch'd regarding colors and such.
Fighting/Flying, evolves after training with an extinct plant.
Branch evo soldier looks more like a slightly taller Farfetch'd, so still a duck, has coconut helmet, leek is turned into a rifle with bayonet, plants grow on it, forming armor and a backpack, has gourd boots, patch of thorn caltrops, seed grenades, etc. grow on the armor, underneath the helmet the "hair" feathers are greased back and cut neatly, eyebrow feathers are long enough to be tied back, and are tied back, generally looks like a Farfetch'd evo.
Grass/Flying, evolves when trained knowing a move about assembling weapons, l=newly discovered.
Is this okay?
I'd like to see this gens mushroom (seeing as we get a mushroom mon every odd numbered gen)

Now, here's where it gets good.

Hmm, I see the argument the original poster makes, albeit this isn't the case all the time (Florges as opposed to flabebe, for example, or Zoroark -- Meowth on the opposite side of the argument [looks simple and unrealistic for a gen 1 pokemon]). Also, I don't necessarily agree that that makes Pokemon "better" by being more real. Difference between Genwunners and everyone else I guess.

Tried making a fly since there isn't one.
Thinking was first two stages are generic early game larva and mediocre adult stage, then late game gets an evolution where it becomes powerful. Bug/Poison with high defenses and speed was goal.

Made an early game bird. Didn't wanna use a bluejay at first since there's already a lot of those around, but I came up with them while doodling and I ended up really liking them.

I suppose I could add Ice on the final evolution (kinda like Talonflame added Fire), but just because it's blue with light blue highlights doesn't mean it should be Ice type. There's nothing in his design that says Ice type to me, but I suppose I see where you're coming from.
And I agree that the final evolution should have a clearer 'outfit' pattern. I couldn't find anything that looked good and wasn't too similar to the previous evolution's white 'vest' or clashed with the frilly ascot. I'll see what I can do to make it look better.
