No, lots of people like Platinum. It fixed the slowness of DP as much as it could without tearing everything down, and made the story a bit more coherent.

It's still pretty slow casually despite the enhancements over D/P. A boost in speed for health draining/recovery, text speed, poke center healing would be nice. I popped in SS to compare and it's not much different speed wise despite being my favorite mainline game. The poke center healing is a bit faster and there are no intro animations when turned off.

I'm actually hard pressed to find an underrated main series game as almost all of them have some kind of fanbase for their own reasons. Maybe X and Y but you won't here that from me since they're my least liked main line games.

I mean being considered "underrated" means it's good but not enough people played it or gave it a chance. Every Pokemon main line game sells so it's more about personal preference in what each game provided.

If i'd have to say anything, i'd say yellow and crystal were maybe the weakest, but it started ramping up for sure, emerald being where it started being like bam wow an actual reason to get another copy
