A couple gym busting tips to start us off:
>Yellow screen bursts during battle are signals to dodge.

>Ultra Balls become available at level 20.

My pleb friends get Tangela, Mr.Mime, Lapras and shit in their eggs, I've found two Eevees in 10km eggs and my rarest pokemon is Pinsir.
Need help: why are footprints not working? Everything has appeared as 3 footprints for the past 2 days.

You need to level up gyms in order for others to put their Pokemon into them and give you back up. Level 2 means 2 Pokemon, level 5 means 5, etc. You level up your own gyms by fighting them, which can take a long time if there are more than 1 Pokemon in the gym because you get more gym experience for beating all Pokemon in the gym. If you have a group all besting that one Pokemon in the gym over and over, you can level it up pretty damn fast and then stack it up with more Pokemon.
It's harder to do this in busier areas though.

I get the majority of my Great and Excellent throws when the ball hits them right in the eyes, and not on the head or back. Slightly underthrowing will make it hit them on their "front," which is the key.

So I had an actual strange experience today, had my phone vibrate well just cruising through my neighborhood; so I look down to see what's popped up. It's a Rattata and something else. It literally disappeared on screen as soon as it appeared. I swear it was a grayish bumpy blob, maybe it was the back of a Nidoran(female) or a shellder but I don't think it was and neither were on my pokeradar. I wasn't moving fast enough for it to be out of my range and I circled back nothing was there.
It's been driving me crazy all day, what if ditto are super random occurances and they appear on the radar as another Pokemon to hide even better? Do you think the ditto in game would be more that light lavender or easer pink?

Save all evolving until you're under an Lucky Egg. Catch everything you see for better evolving strats. I evolved 42 Pokemon last time I was under an egg.
Only thing I didn't evolve under an Egg was a Clefairy. I just caught the last one I needed after the Egg expired. Ended up with a 1000+CP Clefable.

I live in NYC. There's never "everyone is asleep." I've seen nearby gyms constantly cycling through teams at 2 in the morning.
The most I can ever get is 10 coins per day, because in the time it takes you to walk between gyms, you'll almost certainly have lost the previous one. So all I can do is grab one gym and cash out.

Bulkier pokemon just have a huge advantage over offensive pokemon, provided they also have strong attacks. There's really no point in using offensive pokemon at all. Plus offensive pokemon need to leave themselves vulnerable for about 4 or 5 seconds to use their secondary attack while the defensive pokemon have no problem being vulnerable for that long because they're just eating up hits.
There's also no speed stat, which makes them even more inviable. Can anyone name a single frail pokemon that's better to use than the likes of Vaporeon, Snorlax, etc.?

In my experience they're generally mote common in suburbs. People in urban areas tend to get different pokemon but you guys get a lot of the pokemon that are/were Normal type in Gen I: mostly Eevee, Jigglypuff, and Clefairy.

Yes, that's correct. The timer resets every 20 hours, and once it resets you can cash in your gyms (10 coins per gym) at any time. So ideally you'd cash in when holding a few gyms, wait 20 hours, repeat.
Doesn't help in places where gyms don't last more than a few minutes at a time. Best you can do there is get one gym and cash in immediately.

it's all a matter of how much time you want to invest in it. if i see a rank 7 or 8 gym, a lot of times i'll just skip it because i don't have the time to sit there and work through it. sometimes i do, though, and it mixes shit up and makes things more interesting when i have to actually work for a gym instead of downright murdering whatever cannon fodder raticates and pidgeots people have jammed into them.
Is Vaporeon really the only good Eevelution?

Couple of questions regarding settings for phone time spoofing. I came across some info that resetting the time, or altering, gave you a boost to eggs/incense, and having both I tried it. It did work, as in gave me up to a max of 59:59 on the timer (1h max, any above resets to 30m), but I only caught around 5 pokemon by not moving, while the last one I gave up on waiting for after nothing for 12 minutes. The questions I have are mainly as following :
- Is spoofing cellphone time local or server affected.
- Does setting your time past 7pm actually spawn night time catches.
I can already confirm that speeding up your phones time by 6m to try and bypass the stop's 5m timer does not work. It will change back to blue, from pink, but keep saying try again till 5m have past from when you checked it (this also applies to changing time to affect spawns rates). This is to say all pokestops are server side timed. I can't seem to confirm the previous 2 questions.

I've noticed a lot of people who are bored or dissatisfied with the game because they expected a full fleshed out new pokemon game, from a f2p PHONE app. It's a phone app my man, not a commercial grade release. You have to remember 90% of the audience are normies that can't into doing things more complex than finger flicks or taps.
If you're displeased with the bare basics of the game right now, take into consideration its age. It's only going to grow to be more fleshed out the longer it interacts with the public. You'll see trading soon, possible more gens in a month, and the real endgame goal for the team I assume is local battles (not gyms). Leader boards are also possibly coming, yet not sure what they will "lead" in.

You need to go into the shop, and top right has the action to claim rewards. You also need to have your pokemon actually in the gym when you go to claim it. The reward claim has a 21h CD, so don't bother fighting for a gym when the CD is up.

This is what it should look like. The top right green bubble is the gym "defending" amount. I don't do many fights, but I'm seeing that the more pokemon you put in a gym, the bigger the number, and bigger reward. It has nothing to do with how long they are put in for. I've claimed with 1 gym ownership, and got 10pc and 500 dust.

I fell for the hype folks go a new phone just to play this game finally got outside meet alot of new people and while that is great and all I reached level 15 and finally had enough and uninstalled this piece of mobile crap. this game is literally everything wrong with modern gaming and it saddens me to see so many including myself fall for the hype.
Where I even start with this game. I'm sure everyone knows this game is just a reskinned version of ingress one was a niche game and the other a smash hit. I guess this just proves you don't need an original Idea just the right IP attached to your product to get people to lap it up but no that ain't even the worst gaming sin this game has to offer. It shits on a great game series and dumbs it down for casuals. Why even allow us to choose a starter pokemon if it's just gonna be transfered for candy. There is no wild pokemon battles. instead you flick balls at pokemon that's about it. gym battles are a joke and I don't foresee battles between other players going any better. And from what I've read once you get past 20 this game becomes masochistic with it's xp curve forcing people to pay dish out or be left behind. No one 30+ has gotten their naturally. I expect most people will quit playing once they hit 15-20 like myself. and while marketed as a great way to go out and get some excersize the fastest xp is to sit by 2-3 lured pokestops all day. and I know I mentioned this earlier but the battling system is shit. like real shit you get 2 moves almost no strategy is involved besides using your Highest CP pokemon the mainline pokemon games had such an amazingly well balanced battling system but instead we get this shit. just ugg.
But the worst part is the incredible success that such a shitty game that I wouldn't even call alpha has managed to achieved. It'll prusuad nintendo and every other gaming company to making really shitty mobile games of beloved IP's
