I always really enjoyed the more artistic takes that some people would make out of the combos. Made me kind of wish that Pokemon would have introduced a few "cross breeds" or something. It would have been better done than Megas IMO

I hate fusion art like this that tries way too hard to be cool/edgy. It doesn't even resemble the fusion anymore.
There's another one where it's Charizard/Machamp fused, ends up looking like a goofy man-lizard, but the artist just made a giant generic angry dragon with man arms.

That's fine. It's not for everyone. I personally really like that one. The artist too the fusion, or rather the concept of the fusion, then took it a step further than just combining solely the sprites - sort of a "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts" approach - that is not so far departed from the combination of the sprites that it doesn't even resemble the original fusion. That being said I do dislike the insectile legs on the sides of the fusion.

Not really. It's really boring, they just made a lizard and threw some bug limbs and flora on it. All it shows to me is that the artist lacks the creativity to work with the subject matter, that they're too scared to escape their comfort zone and try something different. Instead of trying to draw a goofy cute Parasaur, they avoid it by drawing "cool angry dinosaurs" like they're used to drawing, and hope that their moderate technical skill impresses the average viewer.

The artist did a goddamn good job representing a Venusaur degraded by the fungus that possesses Parasect. You're just cranky because you can't do something like that. /discussion
