Alright, we've seen a good handful by now, what do you think of the Gen VII Pokemon?
Solid and with variety, a nice addition to the franchise.
They're great.
Some of the best ones yet since Gen 5.
I still don't like gimp bear though.
They make me realize I'm growing out of Pokemon, because apparently these designs are great, but I don't think so at all.
There's quite a few that I like. Lots of cute ones, with pikachu cosplay ghost and fuzzy bee fly.

Gen 2 simplicity in designs but Gen 5 distinctiveness.
Literally the best of both worlds.
I like the concept of a pink/black bear but I hate the way the colors stop so abruptly. Feels fake; would prefer a fade between the colors.

Drama still looks derpy to me.
Braxish is a little to flamboyant.
I wish Kiteruguma's colors were red or light orange instead of pink.

yeah i mean i understand logically that they're actually pretty great designs, but i'm just not feeling the same about them as i have in the past about new pokemon. this is the first time that i have not felt that the new pokemon are actually pokemon. i do like some of them, but the majority just feel off to me. i'm absolutely going to still buy the games and i'm sure i'll love the games.

The dragon and fish are absolutely version exclusives. Only reason they'd stand out so much.
They're alright. They're pretty much what I expected, they have a wacky feel to them like odd gen Pokemon seem to always have. I like that they're putting more emphasis on the Pokemon's characteristics.

I rarely feel negatively towards a pokemon enough to think that. So far the only designs I can say feel off to me are Chesnaught, Hoopa Unbound and everything about Zygarde.

I'm seeing a lot of simplicity (barring Bruxish and legendaries) and vibrant colors in the designs. They're a tight bunch of designs overall.
The designs were better in Gen VI but I like many of the new pokémon announced.

Actually, I feel like when I see them side by side, they don't mesh at all. But it doesn't matter, because I like to look at them individually anyways, and individually, they all look pretty unique and awesome (except bear, which is mediocre).
Maybe it doesn't look nice meshed together right now because we don't have all the evos yet. If you put the evos in, I bet this picture would look a lot nicer.

How's the pokemon density in the newer games? Like how populated are the areas? I've only played Crystal, so each route/cave/whatever only had about 4 or 5 pokemon each (since there were only like 200 of them)

The only one I haven't liked or grown to like at this point is Togedemaru. Dedenne pretty much perfected the idea of a Pikaclone by managing to surpass Pikachu's entire line in cuteness, so it's all downhill from there.

What about it looks first stage? All of its features are fully realised. it doesn't have a big baby head, its limbs are normally proportioned. It doesn't look like part of a line at all.
If it were part of a line it'd be the end, with the first form being more simple and just poison type.
Rowlet and Litten are good, Popplio not so good.
Rockruff is an OK fillermon but not good enough for the mascot status it seems to have. Komala is forgettable.
Yungoose looks OK in-game but the official art is SHIT.
Pikipek is above average regional bird.
Grubbin line is good. Vikaavolt kinda reminds me of Digimon, but it's still the best design so far.
Tapu Koko looks like shit.
Drampa is OK.
Bruxish is my most hated design of all time.
Cutiefly is great. I hope it evolves to something equally cute.
Pikaclone is dumb but atleast it's not a fat manlet version of Raichu.
Salandit is very nice, one of the best ones so far.
Mimikkyu is cute as hell.
Kiteguruma is shit. I hate it so much.

Topu Keko looks pretty nice, digging the shield thing that it has going on. Solgaleo made me pick Sun, but Lunaala is pretty good too.

So far I want to bump it up to my 3rd favorite gen in design because so many are at least consistently nice looking to me, but there isn't nearly enough to go on for that yet.
Like/love the majority of them. Here;s the ones I dislike and reasons.
Grubbin's line - Incoherent colour schemes, Charjabug looks too out of place in the line and has an awful combination of colours along with its boring anatomy.
Bear thing - Can't even be bothered to learn its name. Shame they wasted a red panda on such a crap design. I get the thought behind a cuddly monster, but its execution is way too disjointed. The "tiara" looks out of place on an otherwise simple design and the pink and black clash too much.
Everything else is fine.

i'm not crazy about the bear either but i think it's cute and fine.
They're better than most of the Pokemon from Gens 4 and 5.
There are a few designs that I'm iffy on, but overall I'm quite impressed.
Pikaboo is one of my favorites for the series as a whole.
