I was put off by it at first, but then I realized it's a giant Japanese red panda mascot with terrifying super strength. The fact that it's a giant, menacing teddy bear with the same nonchalant expression as it pushed your shit in has caused it to grow on me.

Kind of bland, but I can almost guarantee everyone's going to name theirs P3dobear (to get past the censors) or Spurdo or something.
PRetty sure he's based off the 5 Nights at Freddys Hype. Just read his pokedex Entry. Look at his dead eyes. He walks slow and wants hugs.. but then breaks everything he hugs. Puts trainers lifes at risk.

Putting and "xD" on the end of something doesn't invalidate it. You just admitted it yourself, it's got character. Not to mention it resembles bear mascots which are popular in Japan, and takes aspects of both the cute, expressionless teddy bear, and the larger, imposing wild bear. It gets the best of both worlds and it's all wrapped up in a neat package.
So yeah. Tons of character.

My only issue is the ear placement, looks like it should be on top of its head, not sitting on its forehead - looks like a headband at the moment.
