Second favorite Gen 1 water type
One of the many pokemon that I wanted to lick when I was younger.
I've always like Staryu/Starmie but have oddly never encountered one early enough in any of the games to use it throughout the main story.
I do want a Starmie to use online though, but not sure how to use it.

Is there any way a mega Starmie would not be good enough for OU?
The way I see it, its stats are balanced so well that no matter if it gets a defensive or an offensive stat boost, at least one of its roles as a defensive spinner or an offensive fast threat will be good enough to survive the powercreep sure to come in gen 7.

Starmie has been my favourite Pokemon since Misty's took a big fat shit on all of my Pokemon when I played Leafgreen with a Charmander starter... including the ones I specifically caught to fight Water types, Pikachu and Bellsprout.Turns out Leaf Green has special trouble against it because Bellsprout, the one thing besides a starter or Paras you could resist water with at that point, has special defense of 30 compared to the 70 it had in Gen I, and absolutely nothing you could have can outspeed the Starmie without overlevelling it substantially.
