The starter evos are Grass/Flying, Fire/Poison and Water/Fairy.
>Rowlet is the chubby one of this generation, it gains more adult owl like proportions and it has strong legs but it's still a fatty. It does get a slight hood effect as some leaks have predicted but it's not prominent, I assume that artists are doing this due to the way a barn owl's face looks.
>Litten stays slender with it's evolve, it's also ridiculously fast and, like Infernape, it a very soild mixed attacker. It gain tiger like stripes across it's back which become spikes when it attacks, you can already see the basis of this in Litten's attack animation.
>Popplio does indeed become Water/Fairy, but don't worry, it's not feminine like the leaks would have to believe. It's like a Harlequin/Jester and looks pretty goofy. It's facial features make it look as if it's wearing a mask. It has good special attack though but is weirdly slow.
As for synchro, it's rather obvious, from what I've read on here it's pretty much been already guessed. There is a gem for each type and any Pokemon can use them as long as you have at least 2 hearts on Pokemon Amie. You'll find the gems around the islands but you get given two to start with, the one for your starter and the Electric one. The gems unlock a fifth move which has 2PP, and increases with power the more you bond with your Pokemon via story checkpoints. Unfortunately the category of the move depends on how the type was categorised in Gen I-III, so Pokemon like Gyarados and Rapidash are shit out of luck.

Multi-types can use either gem, but only one at once. The bracelet only holds a certain amount of gems so you can only have a certain amount on at any given time, if you have both type gems for one Pokemon on at the same time it will only be able to use the primary type gem.

The boss battles can vary, there a four against the island kahuna's aka Hala and gang, they're the same type specialists as the guardians. The first you'll fight though are the "Bug Maniac Society" and their leader, Creevy. He uses Ledyba, Spinarak and Charjabug (Grubbin actually evolves pretty late, level 18, but his is under leveled at 15)
