That said, Serene Grace with the elemental punches, body slam, rock climb and the other status inflicting moves that Hitmonchan has would be deadly. That Ice Punch would be one of the most annoying things to switch into.

It's broken and doesn't even fit thematically. Adaptability is for things that live in harsh environments, such as Feebas, Crawdaunt and Basculin which all live in polluted water. Lucario gets a pass because it's a fighting type and dog, and trains in the mountains all day, and Beedrill because the extra stingers make sense of a +1/3 boost. Galvantula is just slapping it on whatever.

Like Ice, Rock mons are usually slow and "tanky", while the type itself is a fantastic offensive type. That's why Kabutops under rain and Terrakion are so powerful, their stats are suited for it. Same with Weavile and Kyurem-Black. Anon's proposed Mega makes Mega Kabutops an offensive threat, like its typing is suited for.

This is literally a thread for creating viable megas. You can't just throw a temper tantrum and throw around the term "Smogonfag" for anything you don't like. In fact, anon's proposed mega is a Quiver Passer, which isn't legal under Smogon's Baton Pass clause.

Gyarados loses its flying typing, and Mega Aggron, the Pokemon that eats fucking mountains, loses its Rock type. Nothing is out of the question.

The fun thing about rock types is: nobody is ready for a full team of them online.
Seriously, my current battle box is pic related.
And yes, I run rock wrecker on rhyperior. His defenses are high enough that he can tank one or more SE hit. I fear no water because, well, shuckle has infest & encore and cradily has storm drain. Trap, swap, receive mega buff.

Battling random online, I find myself up against annoyingly predictable teams of six legendaries. "Arceus used judgement!" "Darkrai used Dark Void!" "Mega Mewtwo X used psychic!"

Those teams get dismantled. Even balanced "competitive" teams eat rock, because Mega Lucario hates Earthquakes from proto-birdies and Talonflame and Charizard can't handle *any* kind of rocks, be they sneaky or sliding. Top it off with seven turns of sand (courtesy of my smooth rock Tyranitar) and I'm golden.

The increase in attack is because Reuniclus has a pretty good physical movepool with good attacks such as the elemental punches, Superpower, Knock Off, Rock Slide, Drain Punch, etc. Which will add a level of unpredictability as it could either be a wall thanks to a combination of Recover+Calm Mind/Acid Armor, a plain special attacker, or a mixed attacker thanks to the ability allowing it to resist a burn.
