There's no real grind if they live in cities or populated areas with many PokeSpots. And for those who don't, they'll just pay money just like they do for Candy Crush and the likes. It's all boosted by social media, all these celebrities playing the game will make people keep playing and only the real hardcore Pokemon fans that realize how shallow this game really is will stop touching it and really, them to normie ratio is like comparing a penny to the Empire State Building. We aren't winning this fight.
