Iwata never got to see Nintendo's current state, especially in the Pokemon department. How happy do you think he would be at the success of Go?
>>
>>27160987
I'd say extremely happy/proud, especially since he was involved with the partnership with Niantic. GO has brought together millions of complete strangers around the world, whether they be fans of the series or not, and that number will keep growing as its released in the rest of the world, so I'm certain he would have had a huge smile on his face.
>>
Wait isn't today an year since he died?
>>
Considering he loved seeing video games bring people together, I'd think he'd be more than happy.
>>
The game is bringing in fucktons of money and people are running around and interracting because of the app, as surface level interraction as it is.

I believe he would have been pretty satisfied.

No, that was the 11th.

>Satoru Iwata (December 6, 1959 – July 11, 2015)
It's been a year already. Damn.
>>
>>27160987

Wasn't he reluctant to get into mobile gaming though? We might not have even gotten Go if he hadn't died if that was the case
>>
>>27161246
He was reluctant, but eventually decided to use mobile products as a way to spread awareness about their "actual" products.

It's sad that Iwata passed away when Nintendo was looking pretty grim after THAT E3 and not going out on a good note like now. R.I.P

It's fucking shit, man.
>>
>>27163739
i think it was the puppets thing
>>
>>27163739
It had absolutely nothing interesting - No console news, no really exciting games, just nothing fans were globally looking forward to.
It also announced Federation Force
>>
>>27163739
They announced Metroid FedForce and Animal Crossing Amiibo Party, spent ages talking about Star Fox Zero but didn't actually delve deep into the gameplay, had a segment dedicated to the girl who designed the Yarn Yoshi Amiibo, people complained that the puppet show skits were too childish and stupid, etc
Basically it was a mess and Iwata apologized for disappointing people. Then he died soon after.
>>
He didn't get to see the amazing response to Zelda this year either, rip

Pour one out for Iwata, the Pokemon Trainer that conquered the Johto region and paved the way for us to return to Kanto

>Iwata used the puppets so people didn't see how frail and sick he was
Shit man
>>
>Miyamoto will die in your lifetime
>>
>>27164215
The puppets were the most well-received part of E3. The shitty parts were Federation Force, Amiibo Festival, Zip Lash, and a lackluster Star Fox Zero.

It added injury to insult that Reggie called that E3 all about "transformation," when it looked like transformation of good, beloved IPs to shit games.

Well, we all knew it was coming since you can never discard Nintendo, as many generations have taught us. I'm sure he was sure Nintendo was going to bounce back at one point or another.

This guy is one of my inspirations, he wasn't a composer, but he held onto his ideals and put them into a medium he loved, I hope to do the same with music composition some day.

The fact that it takes about 50 replies before deleting a thread with porn shows that the mods finally had their coffee.

Iwata fiercely fought back against Nintendo going mobile, he would off himself right away
>>
>>27163503
Iwata was around for tons of personal successes and he knew what was going to happen with Go anyways. Don't fret bros.
>>
>>27161246
>>27161260
He was against going into mobile gaming in general, but the partnership with Niantic and the concept of an Ingress-style game to push their brand was how he eventually decided to go into it.
Pokemon Go was partly his idea in the first place.
