I get that there's too many pokemon so its unavoidable, and this happened sometimes before (base set starmie), but still it annoys me
Just got this quagsire, fates collide weezing, and even a common lapras and kangaskhan, all with 100+ HP

Your examples are all weaker than rares.
But you're right that the game is ruined by good cards being common, imagine if there was a common that went around doing 200 damage for a single energy attachment on the first turn. The game could never survive.

No I already have a reverse holiday rare simipour that I despise. It's a shit card, with low HP AND shit art. It doesnt look like it should be rare.
The weezing and that lapras and snorlax do look like they should be rare.
