stock increases have little to do with actual revenue generated. the stock is going up because of anticipated revenue generation. the only way the game actually generates revenue is through microtransactions however and the people who are buying the stock understand little about video games.
pokemon go is not very deep at the moment. if people get tired of it in a few weeks they will stop playing without having ever made any microtransactions. the stock market doesn't really care though. the best investors are the ones who bought the stock before it increased and they will likely sell it off before it drops, making lots of money in the process. investors don't care if the game actually makes money, it is simply very high profile and the optics make it a great investment assuming they don't wait too long to sell.
People thinking that they'll drop the mainline handheld games are idiots and should be slapped with a spiked glove.
