Pokemon RBY had IVs and EVs, it just worked differently from RS>
They're probably going to double the amount of IVs of your 'mon since IV cap was 15, reset EVs and assign a random ability/nature
Or maybe just randomize all that shit

IV are the genes and can be breed for (50/50 contribution like people have suggested a thousand times)
EV based on battle experiences
DV are a training like jogging/lifting weight
