There are so many cool pokemon released in Gen 6. Greninja, Tyrantrum, Clawitzer, Trevenant, Hawlucha. It's just that it's so fucking small. When I beat if for the first time I only had 4 pokemon on my team.

I really quite like gen 6. Had a mix of gen 1, 3 and 5 style designs.
I think Bunnelby and Diggersby are the only ones I actually dislike.
I guarantee you, if every gen 6 poke was redrawn in gen 1's old watercolour style, every single one would look good. It's the new boring moe style that puts people off, though some really are just quite hard to like regardless, like gen 5's Trubbish and Garbodor.

Goodra was dissapointing because I wanted a Fairy pseudo, not another Dragon and one that has a single type when it looks like it could be part water...but I don't dislike the design.
In terms of non-edgy dragons, I like Flygon and Altaria.

BW DID have a good story, for a Pokemon game that is. We're not saying it's Last of Us/Uncharted tier of video game narrative, but it was nice to have more of a focus on the narrative. I will admit some overrate the story.
Overall though Gen 5 wasn't shit. The region even though linear, had nice locale and areas to explore(like any other Pokemon game), and BW2 was stellar in its content and the changes it made to make Unova a more fun region to revisit.
And most important of all, the Pokémon weren't bad. At all. Can I compromise and say it introduced some of the oddest looking Pokemon in the series? Sure, but it still gave us a good batch of quailty Pokes.
Gen 5 isn't overrated, people are just realizing it wasn't the black sheep of the franchise and giving this great Gen a 2nd chance.
