I want to do a Pokemon go tournament next weekend. How do I use the gyms to do this

Have the people with the strongest Pokémon take over the gym and everyone tries to beat them. There's not much you can do. You can also have a scavenger hunt for like an hour to see who catches the strongest Pokémon.

Oh I see. Have some people throw a bunch of level 500 Pokemon in a gym for each team. The three people who win from each get to build their own gym with their Pokemon from the scavenger hunt. Interesting. Seems like it'd take a lot of planning and the ability to efficiently reset gyms
