just been walking a lot, I'd say I've put in 7+ hours so far. some of the pokes I found were high level, the higher level you are the higher levels you encounter. Hypno, Tangela, Snorlax, and raticate were all caught around the level showing

CP cap is based on trainer level. Your only mistake was being a casual.

your trainer level needs to be higher for the poke level to also go up. for example if your trainer level is 6 max poke level will be around 5-600ish

I heard there is a way to get him. If you start the game, and you run away from the first 3 pokemon they give you a couple times. (just keep running away) then the game will be like, "oh, you don't like any of those Pokemon? Take Pikachu."... idk try it out.

Just keep grinding. Catch as many garbage pokes like pidgey and rattata and just evolve them and then transfer the redundant ones.
Use lucky egg while you're mass-evolving too. Each one will give you 1000xp

pidgeys are probably tied with rattatas as most common so they're easy as fuck to level up and evolve.
I believe Electric types are extremely valuable for this reason

Stuck the Slowbro in a gym because every gym around here is either Pidgeot's or Golbat's and Jolteon does just a good if not better job at taking them down.Except that one yellow level 8 gym in the middle of town with a Snorlax on top. Fuck that gym.
Long walks are something I do often anyway, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I live out in the coutryside though so its nice to walk about, hiking trails are everywhere.

where do you guys find your Pokemon? I went for a walk along a path by the river the river behind my house thinking I'd come across water types and didn't see anything for the half an hour I was there.
Then I went into town and just found the usual trashmons and live 6 drowsee in a row, though I did find a 400CP Jynx.
Where are you all finding yours? Or will the rarer Pokemon just appear more if I'm higher level (currently level 8)?

I'm starting to find find 300+ pokemon in the wild regularly (and found a 400+ Fearow yesterday around my apartment) but I still have a long way to go before I can evolve some of these pokemon.
