Will adding Gen II-onward Pokemon to GO cause nostalgiafags to drop it and stop overruning the fanbase?
Hopefully.

I honestly wish the normies would give the new Pokemon a chance. They might actually make some new favorites.

Not really, but each successive gen will achieve that to a higher degree. There are a ton of gen 2 nostalgiatards as well after all.
Alternate scenario; adding new pokemon warms normies up to them.

I hope this happens. Normies only hate new gens cause they're not the first gen.

this
2nd gen best gen. Plenty of people nostalgia for them, since Gold/Silver is from way back in 1999

Carefully and slowly.
Gen 2 is considered Pokemon for nostalgiafags yet.
Gen 3 and on don't

yet the Gen 3 starters are pretty recognizable, along with a handful of others. Most nostalgia folks don't even realize how many Pokemon they are familiar with. It probably won't work, but if they actually trick masses of adults into liking all Gens, it'll be the biggest move the franchise has ever made
