So we have what, like 16 weeks before S/M comes out I think? We already know 3 episodes, and probably a two-parter, maybe even three parts, for Ash vs Alan. Assuming 2 episodes to close off the show and I can't imagine them spending more than a month on the Flare arc considering all the episodes they've already spent on setup. What will the other ~4 weeks be used for?

Both Gen 4 and Gen 6 had so few new pokemon to give the main characters. Especially Gen 4 too because half the new pokemon were legendaries or new evolutions of old pokemon.
I do like that we got to see some old Johto pokemon on the cast that weren't caught in the original region because of the new evo's:

- Swinub/Piloswine for Mamoswine
- Aipom for Ambipom
- Sudowoodo

Besides, Sceptile and Greninja are on pretty even footing when they're not Mega'd I think, after considering types. Greninja beat Sceptile that one time because he was Synchro'd and Sceptile wasn't Mega'd. I don't think they're that far apart.

Hawlucha learned to be a team player and be more humble, Greninja learned that it's okay to lose, Goodra started off as a weak Goomy and became stronger so it could protect the ones he loves, Noibat learned to fly and basically grew up on screen. For Serena Braixen got over her 'fear' to get dirty for Serena, Pancham and Chespin stopped fighting as much, Eevee stopped being shy. For Clemont Chespin is still a lil shitmon, Bunnelby was given a background episode in which he learned to stand up for himself. Luxray learned to trust Clemont again and forgave him after he thought he had been stood up by him.
