Ever since I was a kid this has bothered me.
Why are there Pokemon that don't evolve twice? Why should any non 3 stage evolution Pokemon even fucking exist? They are ALWAYS immensely worse than 3 stage mons, they're completely worthless. Not only that, it's boring. If they only evolve the once, or God forbid not at all, they're not fun to train!
Pic related, a cool design wasted on a useless pokemon
Another example is Skarmory, who looks dank but isn't very good
It sucks Gamefreak pussied out of adding new evolutions to existing Pokemon because 9 times out of 10 they were super cool.

>They are ALWAYS immensely worse than 3 stage mons,
Lucario is a two-stage mon and Heracross is a single-stage mon, yet they're on par with if not better than most three-stage mons

>Skarmory
>isn't very good
this better be bait
I asked once what the purpose of pupa Pokemon is for non-catepillar Pokemon (Pupitar, Shelgon, Whirlipede, etc.) and the answer I got was that it's too crazy for something small to go to something big without some kind of in between, yet we have things like Noibat > Noivern, Bergmite > Avalugg, Growlithe > Arcanine, and even Venonat > Venomoth, which probably should have a pupa stage. Who knows why GF does what they do...

1. Pokemon would have probably failed if it was 3 stage mons. Look at digimon they all are guaranteed to have the same number of evo's.
They used fairly straightforward cleancut ideas. Such as having "mon" at the end of every digimon.

2. The premise of 3 evo's across the board is predictable and bland and neglects to cater to a broader perspective oriented mind, narrowing its target audience.

3. i.e. Some people want to know what they get up front. Hence single stage mons. Not every one wants to have to level mons to find out an evo sucked.
4. 3 stage mons across the board carries a bad stigma left behind by pokemon ripoff games. In wich the majority as far as i know had multiple evo's across the board.
