Not really crazy but interesting, I managed to find two Poison-types (Zubat and Oddish) while in a hospital waiting room to see my doctor. I know that apparently prescription drugs don't help you as much as you think but damn that is quite the find.

They are not randomly generated. Some are based on region. Regions tend to have certain types of pokemon, with differing chances based on region. This usually applies to terrain but terrains can vary in vast areas.

People see the same pokemon, but you don't have to compete for them. Everyone is in their own instance if you will. For example, I went and caught a growlithe the other day and other people showed up at the same spot and caught their own growlithes.

Pokestop and Arena locations originate from "Portals" from the game Ingress. The theme of Ingress is that you are some kind of secret agent, there are Portals in the world that spew out alien energy, and there are two teams that fight 1. against 2. in favour of this alien energy. Portals in Ingress created by players of the game, they are supposed to be in public locations of cultural or spiritual interest; it simply has a darker theme to it, and people who iddn't play it don't understand why pokestops are in these places

I don't think it does. There's this park near my house with soccer, hockey, and baseball areas, surrounded by marsh, and for whatever reason that's where Electabuzz always spawns.
Another just standard park with forest and playground has has Jynx and Magmar.
Lickitung by the baseball stadium, etc. Where they're found doesn't make sense but you should go to large or famous locations to get rare pokemon. Shopping centers, parks, sports arenas, that kind of thing.
I wonder if anyone has tried playing in a zoo.

The shop lets you buy standard pokeballs, incense/lures, and XP boosters for your trainer, but nothing that directly powers up your pokemon.

Don't worry about the power levels of your mons till 10+ levels. Just keep grinding for mons. They'll come to you with different CP levels as you go. Keep XL mons for evolving. Evolve pidgeys and rattatta for exp then transfer them for more candies.

Each pawprint is about a block unless its 3 prints. They're in order of how close they are. If you have a 3 printer in the bottom right corner of the list don't bother because that shit could be anywhere.
