I feel so autistic for being annoyed by it, but yeah most of the people posting about it are casual fans excited about a cool free game. If I hadn't played pokemon in years I would probably play it to but I think I'll wait until you can fight wild pokemon to level up and fight other trainers. The whole catching multiple pokemon to level up and evolve takes away from the emphasis on the bond between you and your pokemon. I get that they did it so people would want to go out and catch more pokemon, and it also makes having an evolved starter more special, but if you could fight them to get a candy it would feel more like pokemon in my opinion.

My point is, go is mostly aimed at people who aren't as deep into fandom as us. Nothing to be mad at as long as it doesn't affect the main games, and considering a lot of them don't have a 3ds I doubt it will. It's two separate things, I really don't think gamefreak would ever stop releasing games on nintendo handhelds.
