He's talking about popularity, dumdum. Obviously it never literally went away, but you can't deny that it's never really been as popular as it was back in the gen 1-2 days. With this, though, people are openly talking about pokemon again. People are bonding over their love of pokemon. Yeah, it's not Pokemon Pop Tarts levels of popularity, and probably never will be, but it definitely feels like that 'spark' is there.
