Anyone else think they're revealing too many Pokemon? I was hoping to find most of them on my own, but it feels like they've been revealing new ones practically every week since E3. The only way to avoid knowing about them seems to just be leaving the internet until the games come out.
I'm perfectly aware of how normal this is by the way, but if there's only 70 something new ones like X/Y and they reveal half of them before the game is out I'll be upset.

Ever since the beginning of XY's marketing they've seemed to have this trend of revealing new Pokemon/megas every fucking chance they get. With ORAS it was hilarious how they left absolutely none of the megas hidden.

Honestly, I think they're only doing it to start the hype-building process. Once we get into August/September, and the release date gets closer (and especially if Pokemon Go keeps up, and keeps people talking about Pokemon), they'll probably quiet down.

That all depends on how many Pokemon there are. XY revealed too many, especially for there only being 70 new ones. If there's at least 100, then no, I think 2-3 each month is fine. September will be the traditional starter second stages.

Eh, it isn't that bad. We still have no idea what the bracelet does, who the villain team is, and they haven't revealed a single gym leader and we have only 4 months till release. So not 'everything' is being spoiled. I'm just hoping we have a substantial amount of new Pokemon to discover and train. 19 have been revealed so far. How many did they reveal for XY before release?

If I was in marketing, I'd show maybe the first stage of the starters, the rat, bird and butterfly (or whatever variant) that you get in the early game, the box legendaries and maybe one or two pokemon that show off a new feature - like a new type (sylveon for example)

I don't know why but I feel like the more they reveal, the more chance there is of there being heaps of new Pokemon 100+
I get X/Y revealed a lot and had a small dex but they've been handling the reveals differently this time round.
Also, when the 7 new Pokemon were revealed, it made me think that there would be heaps of new Pokemon this gen, they could've shown 2-3 of them and then another 2-3 next month and it would still keep things fresh but they dropped 8 within a week.

I appreciated that they attempted to do something from scratch, but I don't think they succeeded.
I like a handful of the pokemon like Scrafty, Chandelure, Cofagrigus, Carracosta
I think BW2 was an improvement. I liked the greater variety of pokemon, I thought the new towns/gyms were better and the world tournament was nifty. Didn't hate Pokewood either. I think the rustling grass mechanic was alright too.

I grew up with the original 151. Every morning a new Pokemon was revealed by the anime, and then there was the TCG, stickers, toys and Tshirts which helped ingrain them into my memory.
When I finally got a Game Boy Color and Red version for Christmas that year, I knew EVERY Pokemon in that game back-to-front.
It didn't affect my enjoyment at all. If anything, it enhanced it.

I really don't think it looks that different, for better or worse.
I know it makes sense to re-use those 'future-proofed' models for another game, but when it comes down to it, those are what everyone is going to be staring at for the bulk of the 'game' part of gen 7's experience. I'm really worried it's not going to feel like a separate experience from 6 as a result.
