Tepig's alright. Acceptably cute for a starter Pokemon. Pignite's kind of awful, but he's hardly the worst middle stage for a starter (that honour falls to Quilladin). I never quite got why people disliked Emboar though. He's my favourite of Unova's starters, and of all the Fire/Fighting starters we have he's probably my favourite of the bunch.

I liked all the gen 5 starters but I didn't like any of the evolutions that much.
