He's probably one of those chucklefucks who thinks "America" is synonymous with "the Americas".
ZAPDOS IN CHERNOBYL? NO PROBLEM.

Maybe if they said the Americas

Either way, canada is in america
>>27022208
In America we only say "America" to refer to the US. I believe it's that way in Canada, too.
>>27022235
From a brit, that sounds really odd. I know it is the case, but it just sounds like it shouldn't be. Surely anywhere in North or South America is in America? Just like how you would say anywhere in North or South Canada is in Canada.
>>27022272
America is just the United States.
If someone is referring to the continent, they say North America or South America specifically.
Most people refer to "The America's" as just The New World or The Western Hemisphere.
>>27021801
Wikipedia is your friend bro.
>The Americas, also collectively called America
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americas
>>27022272
Well, we consider North America (Canada /Greenland to Panama) a seperate continent to South America (I think Colombia to Argentina?) but it's also largely because we don't like to call the US "the US" in colloquial speech, and we adopted "America" forever ago and it just stuck.
>>27022347
America is the continent, which is why the country is called the United States of America. People also use the same word to refer to the country, but it doesn't take away from its original meaning.
>>27022410
>Well, we consider North America (Canada /Greenland to Panama) a seperate continent to South America
They are. That doesn't make South America any less part of "the Americas"
>>27022347
The only context in which I've heard people say America and refer to the continent is here in Latin America.
Almost everyone here is pissed that the USA has "America" in the name even though everyone's too retarded to understand nobody refers to the continents over there, it's awful.
>>27019253
Where in nevada? I might go after mewtwo some time
>>27022499
No, the continent is NORTH America.
If you're referring to one contiguous landmass stretching from Alaska to Argentina then I suppose you could call it America, but that's fucking retarded because you're lumping in 1/3 of the world's total landmass together for no reason.
>>27022587
I'm afraid that is classified information.
One would not call the entire western hemisphere/new world "America", you would call it "the Americas". However, everyone who lives in the Americas are technically Americans, though the term is usually used as a demonym for people from the US.
>Chernobyl
It almost might have been believable bait if you had left that out.
>>27019253
Is no one but >>27019266 going to point out that OP is lying? Seriously, why on Earth would Gamefreak encourage people to go to Chernobyl? And "Northern Canada" and "Nevada" are not very specific locations.
