What are some interesting pokemon to train on Emerald?
I'm replaying it and looking for something new to train.
Is kecleon very bad? Does the foe's AI explore color change a lot? I'm considering training some gimmick pokemon like him or castform.

Kecleon is my favorite Pokémon, but it's not that great. Its Attack isn't terrible (base 90) and its SpDef is pretty good (base 120) so it can take special hits. But iirc its movepool isn't great in gen 3. You'll have to rely on its weaker SpAtk for stuff like Faint Attack and Psybeam. It can, however, learn Shadow Ball, so if you're dead set on using it, it can have a little coverage.

I think I'm going with girafarig instead then. I've never trained one and looks like a cool baton passer.
Castform looks too weak and having to set up weather all the time sucks.
