I cannot even log into this shit. It keeps either giving me authentification errors (which cant be because i tried those credentials on the webportal) or kicks me back into the main menu as soon as I try to connect. Trying to connect with google gives me a server error screen.

Pokemon has MILLIONS of fans not even counting the casuals in it for nostalgia, I think you underestimate how universally loved pokemon is. that's an unprecedented amount of stress for the servers of a mobile game. with regional releases they have a better idea of what to expect given population statistics and whatnot but those expectations and the resulting work done around them go down the shitter if everyone worldwide hops on those servers
