Well, since you lost everything it really didn't matter if you put them all in pokebank or not. And why didn't you ask Nintendo to link your NNID with another 3DS? The pokebank is linked to your NNID and not the game so the fact that you put everything in the bank is actually a good thing and could have saved you.

All in all that's another reason why my 3DS never leaves my bedroom.

oh no it's a bit stretched to compensate for the huge screen. i'll take that any day over that tiny uncomfortable 3ds that I used to have. after having the big screen i'd never go back, plus my hands don't get cramped like they used to.

it's also a matte finish where it matters. also most of the nn3ds don't even have IPS panels but I'm sure you don't even know what those are.

Why do people seem to think bringing this up works as some kind of slight against the XL models? Literally every 3DS model has "stretched pixels" because none of the screens have acceptable ppi. The regular screens are not noticeably better in this regard than those of the XLs' because things are being distorted either way.

>>
>>26998168
Nothing, really. It lets you play Xenoblade chronicles, but every other feature past that has been completely forgotten or never worked.
It has a c-nub, but it's mostly unusable unless you mod it like >>26998036 and >>26997397.
"Nintendo Image Share" is DOA. It isn't even a feature, they put a shortcut in the options that redirects you to the browser.
The nu3DS is nice because it got a bigger screen size than the original 3DS, but it's not as big as the XL.

I personally got a smol nu3DS, mostly because I'm absolutely scarred by the shitty quality of every normal XL model I've ever seen; I've had 3 myself, 6 between family and friends, and every one has either developed of shipped with hinge problems, and the circle pads have a tendency to melt and get worn down incredibly easy.
Original 3DSes never had that problem, and my nu smol 3DS hasnt either.

As an upgrade, it's not worth it right now. If you're buying for the first time, go for it.
If you're an autismo like me who likes faceplates and doesnt want to not have certain features, that's acceptable too.

I thought it was just my regular XL, but both of these things happened to me the past two weeks. The hinge is cracking and my circle pad broke off (glued it back on) and is starting to rip apart. I've had a regular 3DS for about 4 years now and its' circle pad is still working as new. I've only had my 3DSXL for 2 years and for these problems to be happening so quickly is unacceptable.

I was thinking of getting a N3DSXL because I thought these problems would have been fixed but like you said, the problems of the reg xl have me with second thoughts.
>>
>>26998168
-The ability to play New3DS exclusive games
-The new circle pad which isn't really useful
-Faster download speeds
-Better specs
-Regular N3DS' screens are 1.2x bigger than the original 3DS.
-Amiibo functionality built in to the bottom screen.
-New ZL and ZR buttons
-3D is "Super Stable" so now it isn't complete horseshit
-Interchangable faceplates are a nice touch
All around a very good upgrade if you have a regular 3DS.

>>
>>26999290

>>
>>26999290
I dunno about KI:U, but 3U, 4U, and Generations aren't all that much better with the c-nub. If you've never used it before, it has no actual feedback (it doesnt move, it just feels you trying to push it) and it can get pretty slippery.
If you're using a CPP, it's a pretty big downgrade.
If you're willing to mod it though, a PSP1000 pad fits right in the slot, and works infinitely better.

Like >>26999193 said, if you've got an original 3DS or your XL is falling apart, it's worth it.

Also, I dunno if they still do it, but when I got mine they did a deal where they basically cut 60% off if I gave them my old XL. Worth asking about.
>>
>>26999587
The extra circle pad is a god send for KIU. Having to constantly switch between buttons and touch screen is really awkward.
>>
>>27000056
How is it compared to the CPP? I think the CPP was basically made for KI:U
I know in monster hunter, there's an onscreen camera that works far better than the c-nub most of the time.
>>
>>27000234
I think the N3DS' extra circle pad is way more comfortable than the CPP. They both work great though.

It's so worth it. I have two so I could trade between them. One I take with me wherever I go and the other stays home. Price keeps going up for them. You were able to get them for 50 or 60$. Now you are lucky to get it for 75 or 80$. Most likely you will be paying 100$ for it. It's not for everyone. It's tiny and the screen is tiny. I recommend everyone try it though to see if it's a good fit for them.

If you decide to buy one you have to buy one with an authentic charger. Otherwise you will have to settle for cheap chinese knockoffs because authentic ones are nearly impossible to find.

I can't speak for anyone else, but when I got my first DS there were no pokemon games so I only got the one. Then when I got Diamond and Pearl my original DS was falling apart(shitty hinge) and wouldn't hold a charge for shit, so I upgraded to the Lite and just bought 2 so I could trade between the 2 games. Eventually I got a DSi because fuck it. Then with the 3DS I got the original on release day, eventually got a second original, then an XL, and recently upgraded to the standard size New 3DS. I also have a 2DS that I won at work, and I still have of them except the original DS, so I have a shitload of DS's.

Stalk craigslist and you could probably find a 2DS for under $30.

Found someone selling the Pikachu N64 for just $35 back in December, they even had the box - although it looked like Godzilla attacked it.

you replaced the C-Stick with a PSP stick?

How is that, and was it hard to replace?
Sweet taste by the way.

Just missing the dsi xl.
>>
>>27009187
Not him, but it's fucking great.
It's an easy replacement, you can tear out the c-nub with your fingernail if you have to (although I used a small flathead bit), it's attached by two little rubber loops that are part of the nub itself that will need a nailclipper or fine pair scissors to cut if you don't wanna damage anything. The replacement PSP pad is like 3£ on amazon and just kinda snaps on.
For the most part, it fits on pretty snugly, with a little bit of pivot room (because the snap on for the PSP is a rectangle, and the one on the 3DS is a square, so it can wiggle on that axis)
If you dont mind it being permanent, I sanded mine down a little bit so it lets the clamshell close fully and gorilla glued it on, and now that it's tightly fixed it works better than the nub ever did, before thousands of hours of monster hunter wore it down to smooth, slippery finish.
I don't suggest gluing it on, however, because if you ever need to replace the c-nub part, gluing it on stops you from being able to take the entire c-stick assembly out without breaking it.

Well shit, thanks. I actually have a pack of PSP sticks that I bought off Amazon a while back, so I guess I'll work up the nerve and start ASAP.
>>
>>27010936
Good luck, anon.
I filed mine down using a nail file, if that helps, though I heard some people's PSP pads had the right clearance to not interfere right out of the box. Guess that's what happens with aftermarket parts like this.
If all else fails, so long as you only cut the loops off the c-nub, you can just pop it right back in the slot and it works just as usual, the only difference being that it's not perfectly secure, but if you're putting enough force on it to pull it out during gameplay then you're probably also damaging your c-stick. I made that mistake when I first got a nu3DS, I had no idea that the pad wasnt supposed to move, so I would apply far too much pressure and eventually the sensors got deader and deader before I dismantled it to find out what's up.

I actually cut the two loops but it looks like one is still INSIDE the damn hole.

Either way it works surprisingly well. I only wish the stick was white to match the console itself. Thanks for the advice bro!

If you dont mind getting a little hands on, you can sand down the underside by about... a millimeter or two, and it makes a difference.
At least it did for me.

tfw original 3DS got fucking ran over after it fell out of my pocket somehow
It managed to survive barely and I was too much of a poorfag to get a N3DS (Wanted the smaller one), but I saw a good deal for a black N3DSXL at Costco so I got their bundle. I actually don't regret it at all, I appreciate the larger shit.
>>
Will I get used to the larger screen?
Are larger pixels too jarring?
>>
>>27016968
they really aren't. I dislike the XL models for my own reasons, but muh pixel density isn't one of them.
>>
>>27016968
>>27015318 Here
One of the reasons I was wary about getting an XL over the standard 3DS was whether or not it'd fit in my pocket and portability, but now that I have the XL it really is nicer in most regards.
There really isn't a difference between the screens, the standard looks a little crisper but its so miniscule like >>27017036 said.
Also did they improve battery life during sleepmode for the N3DS? I know the XLs have better batteries but holy shit they can last forever.
>>
>>27017599
The battery life is increased, but I've actually found an odd bug with my nu3DS that makes the thing only have about an 8-10 hour battery life while the wifi is on during sleep mode. Even out of range of anything to connect to.
With the wifi turned off, it stays in sleep mode for over a week.
I don't get this problem with normal models.

What are the best modified versions of ORAS if you want the game to be more challenging(without being extremely difficult) and more fun?
>>
>>27020816
I would recommend VG's meme sapphire which is a combination of the Sinking Sapphire and Star Sapphire hacks.

Star is Hard mode with some other changes
Sinking is harder than vanilla with many other changes

Pasta:
>A daring synthesis of Star and Sinking Sapphire hacks, along with some original stuff
>All 721 pokemon are encounterable in the game, trade evolutions changed, etc. (Exact same pokemon encounter locations and percentages, as well as evolution changes, as Sinking Sapphire, so read up on Drayano's docs for that)
>Most of the shitmons (ie. below OU) buffed to a reasonable extent, with altered stats, types, and movesets (Most changes actually coming from Dray's BBVW2 hack instead of Rising/Sinking)
>Rutile Ruby/Star Sapphire's hard as balls story trainers. Everything in that game still applies, so EXP Share is expected to be used and you should be nearing level 100 as you get to the Elite 4
>Rutile/Star's shop and item changes, most of the competitive shit you can get in Slateport like the original rom
>Rutile/Star's aesthetic changes, meaning its Title Screen/Home Menu splash as well as Brendan and May's older RSE style clothes
