I've just started out a playtrough of Pokémon Crystal. Just beat Falkner, current team is lvl 14 Cyndaquil, lvl 12 Growlithe and the Egg.

Gonna box Cyndaquil, needs tips on great pokemon I can catch now (outside Union Cave) and what I should get for my end-game team.

So far I want Arcanine and Heracross, and probably a Lapras or Gyarados for Surf. Someone for fly too, but the last 2 places are open to anything. Opinions? Ideas?

Be sure to save your money and buy a Larvitar from the game corner. That's what I did in my Crystal replay so I didn't have to wait for Mt. Silver.

That's cool, I'll definitively consider it. Evolving late isn't an issue, it'll give company to my Growlithe which will evolve at lvl 50
