It's better used as a status blocker. Switch in the terrain and for 4-5 turns you are free to set up while being immune to status effects that would cripple your sweep potential. In doubles for example, you could swagger/flatter your partner without the confusion or wasting your held item on a berry. Shedinja becomes a tiny bit better if you can remove the things that hit it super effectively. Misty Terrain + Goggles would block poison and burn while goggles would block sand and hail.
