Currently doing a grass mono run of Emerald on an emulator
Team is:
- Grovyle
- Lombre
- Breloom
- Cacnea
- Lileep
- Tropius
Did a monotype Ground run in Ruby years ago. Mudkip, Nincada (boxed after evolution), Numel, Trapinch, Baltoy, Barboach, Groudon (replaced Claydol because Claydol is ass). Named myself "Terra." Pretty sure I was into Teen Titans at the time.
The team worked by virtue of having just enough type variety to not have to grind out the butt to beat leaders like Wallace. Also no Grass masters in Hoenn.
I feel like X/Y would be good for a monotype run because there are just so many Pokemon and Exp. Share helps with grinding.

I tried a monotype run in Gen III, hacked in Sableye as a starter and it had no moves, got in a stalemate with the first route normal or bird, can't remember which, and never touched it again.

>Not hacking in a sableye with wonder guard and OP moves
Why even hack at all?

You should do a mono fire on diamond and pearl
Done a bunch from gen 3 onwards. Gen V made it great for a bug run and ghost run.
