I have had full dexes in the past but honestly it's not worth it. Actually trying to catch shinies is still arduous and the odds are still daunting. Most shiny palettes suck or aren't as cool as normal anyway.

Many species can't be caught because they can't be legitimately fought in the wild, only evolved, hatched or dowloaded. You'll never actually make a capture attempt with a ball on them.
