Purugly is by far one of my favorite pokemon and it crushes me that it's just a worse Persian, who is just a worse ambipom. In gen4 Purugly wasnt half bad in my doubles team. Back then it was pretty fast for most mons at that time. Fake out was great and hypnosis was on part with sleep powder. Now it's harder then ever to use my pudgy house cat but I still love it.

I guess i just assumed persian being faster and then boosting the power of some of its moves due to technician made it faster and stronger then Purugly. If Purugly is considered better, absolutely no complaints here.

The only thing Persian has going for it is the stronger Fake Out, Purugly already outspeeds everything relevant that Persian outspeeds and Defiant is a great ability to threaten Intimidate pokemon or prevent the opponent from using Sticky Web/Defog. I'm not trying to argue that Purugly is a good Pokemon, both are PU after all, but Purugly is a better Persian. Whenever i use Persian, i use a Nasty Plot Set with Technician and its great special movepool
