Oh yes because they are totally going to remove about 54 unique 3D models all with hundreds of animations that they spent their hard earned time making all for no good reason. This isn't a feature like following Pokemon which they can just remove and no one will blink an eye, Mega's have changed a lot in this series now including in the competitive scene and they would be incredibly stupid to remove them.

We could have had:

Really, it's a cool concept but what a clusterfuck. The only 2 megas done right are Pidgeot and Beedrill, since they took 2 honest-to-god fully evolved shitmon and made somewhat worth using, the rest is only a cheap excuse to sell toys and remakes, and since they made two of the supposedly "preferred starter" they're not even trying to hide that. It's maddening. It's disgusting. Keep falling for GF cheap beats, you would eat a pile of fresh crap if they served that to you (not that XYORAS are something more than a pile of crap)

You realize they removed thousand of sprites up to this point, right? In the worst scenario, those models accomplished what they were meant to in gen 6. Nothing has to be reused just because it took a lot of time to make.
Besides, removing megas now would take away the need to make even more of them. If there is a good opportunity to do that, it is now.

Why not? They can remove whatever they want. If GF just pretends megas do not exist anymore and focus on other features, that is what CoroCoro and pokenchi will show and that is what will sell.
