Why haven't the orange islands been included in a main series games?

What if Game freak did a Pokémon Yellow remake with the Orange islands as post game?

They didn't appear in the main games because they are a shitty knock-off of the E4 from Gen-I. They needed something so buy time between Kanto and Johto. They also need something to simulate the E4/Champion battles without pulling Ash from the show.
