I know a lot of /vp/ dislikes gen 1 as it is, and for good reason as how it's plagued with issues. But can we talk about something else?
The level design. Or rather just the ridiculous amount of fucking trainers everywhere. I think the pacing of gen 1 was a lot worse to and there's so many awful and long areas that are mandatory like rock tunnel. The caves got a lot smaller in the newer games and the big ones were usually optional.
And the fucking Silph Building holy fuck.
Did gen 1 do anything better than the other games?
