Scrafty was never good, and Hydreigon is still as good as it ever was
Heracross, Snorlax, both were gods
Though pre-physical/special split is probably what made them so good in comparison to everything else.

It used to be an absolute terror in Ubers, splashable on almost any team, able to force at least a trade with anything, and THE go-to choice for fighting off Kyogre.
Now it is a liability to even have one on your team.
