Is there a way to get Yancy/ruri instead of Curtis if you are playing with the female character?
I'm fucking obsessed with this idea. Goddammit there's gotta be a cheat code, patch or something.

It's possible but I don't think anyone has done it.
You can always try getting to the point of talking to Yancy, editing your player's gender to female, and then getting on with the game. Or replacing the male trainer sprites with the female ones.

I assume that the game runs a gender check any time you trigger something that has gender-specific differences. You'd either have to change which gender trigger which event or just swap out the male sprites for female sprites.

The actually key items are different. If you walk onto the map as a male you may be able to pick up the xtranceiver that belongs to Yancy.
All subsequent phone calls probably running off the item check.
