I'm not sure translating this story to Pokemon works. A large part of Kafka's metamorphosis and work in general relies on a certain uneasiness and absurdity.
Kadabra can teleport and use psychic powers, so that aspect would realistically not be there.

Jesus christ, it was a near adaptation of the novel using Kadabra's dex entry as a jumping off point. Clearly there are going to be adaptational differences, and occasionally logic will be pushed aside to make the story work.
