This, instead of giving them normal evolutions they wasted potential with the megas.
In the next game, they should just make the mega evolutions they gave out actual evolutions.
Like, trade your Blastoise with Blastoiseite, and it perminantly becomes Mega Blastoise, but with a new name, or something to that effect.
And then start giving out new evolutions to Pokemon that need and deserve them.
