Looking at starter, and probably Iwanko and Vikavolt assuming Iwanko occurs relatively early. My favorite start just based on the first form is probably Rowlet but which one I actually want to pick depends on too many factors. Vikavolt seems like it'll be solid enough and an early special attacker is nice, and I'm assuming Iwanko will be fast and physical. Probably use Pikipek if Iwanko doesn't occur early enough

Hmm, I think I misunderstood Komala's description on the site. It says it can battle even while its asleep, which if accurate, makes Sleep Talk a completely redundant move for it.

It's not automatically asleep.
I always play my first time through a pokemon game as a half-nuzlocke. The pokemon stay alive but the only catching the first pokemon rule still applies.

I play a Nuclocke for a new gen with my own optional rule, the "gotta have it" clause.
Basically, the first time I see something, I can make an exception to catch it, or something I think evolves into it, either right then, or later down the line if a trainer had it.
It is possible to waste it, either by calling something uncatchable, or by the called pokemon appearing in such a way that it would have been catchable anyways.

I love fireflies, so Vikavolt is perfect! Can't wait to be dazzled by it's back at night when battling.
As always I will be using only new mons for the first playthrough.
So far it's Rowlett, Cutiefly, Drampa. Now just waiting for gf to announce some cool water-types.
I'll pseudo nuzlocke the game.
IE use whatever I first find, but I won't have the dumb "oh man if it faints you can't use it anymore" rule that doesn't actually add to the difficulty in any meaningful way.
Hell, using no healing items during battles has more of an impact than that.

I'm hoping Pikipek does a Talonflame and evolves beyond the boring Normal/Flying. I'll consider Rockruff if he gets a second typing after evolving. Everything else revealed so far is out either because I dislike using normal and dragon types, they're legendaries, or type coverage rules them out(No point getting Cutiefly or Togedemaru if I have Vikavolt).
